CABAA was officially formed in 1998 to provide a grassroots organization for business aircraft operators and their vendors to freely exchange information and expertise pertaining to all aspects of business aviation. We realize that business aircraft does not leave the ground without the help and support of a great many talented and dedicated individuals. CABAA is a broad consortium of people that have anything to do with the safe and efficient operation of corporate aircraft.
We schedule approximately one major membership event per month. In addition we host an Annual CABAA Golf Outing each summer that benefits deserving Aviation students with the money raised. In 2011, we raised net proceeds well in excess of $45,000, which was used for scholarships for eight deserving local Aviation Students a Type Rating partnered with Flight Safety International and a Maintenance Scholarship award.
Monthly meetings generally consist of General Meetings and Educational Forums and are typically held at the Drury Lane Banquet Hall in Oakbrook Terrace, which alternate with various Airport Open House events, sponsored by FBO's, Vendors, or visits to various CABAA Member's operations. In addition, the various Board, Committee and Sub-Committee meetings are held as required.
Becoming an active member and volunteering for these special Committees is a great way to "give back to the aviation community" and provides a unique networking opportunity with your peers.
